I’m launching a paranormal romance Kickstarter to bring you a collector’s edition of my newest book—complete with a gorgeous foil hardcover you’ll want to display forever. My original goal was to launch in October 2025. So… what happened?
The short answer: I wanted it to be perfect for you.
The Challenge of Creating a Foil Hardcover
Did you know when you create a special edition yourself, there are always surprises? My printer was overseas because I knew they could deliver exactly what I wanted—a stunning, high-quality foil cover worthy of this paranormal romance Kickstarter.g
But getting it right wasn’t easy. I spent days, hours—let’s be honest—weeks making sure this was a cover you’d love. Blood, sweat, and tears? Absolutely. But if I’m being even more accurate—frustration, hair-pulling, and yes, a few tears.
Why? Because foil printing requires two separate design layers:
- Black layer = the parts you want foiled
- White layer = the areas that remain untouched
This was my first time creating them. I submitted the book to the printer on July 5, 2025. They promised to ship it by July 17. Instead, nothing happened until the 28th—when I got an email saying the file was wrong. Cue more frustration, more hair-pulling, and more tears.
How We Fixed It (Thanks, Chat)
My business partner ChatGPT (yes, that Chat) and I went back to the drawing board. We picked a new cover design—one I hope you’ll love even more than the first—and made sure the foil layers were perfect this time.
Why the paranormal romance Kickstarter Is Now April 2026
After all those setbacks, I decided to move the Kickstarter launch to April 2026. This gives me time to make sure every detail is perfect and to share the journey with you along the way. And since this paranormal romance Kickstarter is my first, I want to build excitement steadily and keep you updated every step.
